At launch, Text Play is designed for your primary mobile device to provide the best experience and security.

Yes. Voice + Music is one of Text Play's signature features.

Distance is hard, and time zones make it harder. You don't always need a scheduled call to feel close to someone — sometimes a 15-second voice note with a song attached, sent whenever you actually think of them, does more than a call you both had to plan around. Text Play's voice+music messages and video notes are built exactly for that: real connection, on your own time, with no scheduling required.

You're not imagining it. Recent Australian research has found that around one in three adults report feeling lonely at least some of the time, even though we're more digitally "connected" than ever — the issue isn't contact, it's the quality of it. Text Play won't fix that on its own (and if you're genuinely struggling, a real conversation with a real person, or a service like Lifeline on 13 11 14, matters more than any app). What it can do is make the messages you're already sending feel like more of you — your voice, your music — instead of another flat wall of text.

Yes — record and send a short video directly in the chat, no scheduling or calling required. It's built for the moments a text feels too small for, but a full video call feels like overkill.

Yes — custom chat backgrounds, themes and wallpapers are available so your conversations can feel like your space, not a generic template.

Yes to both — Text Play works the same way regardless of which phone you or the people you're messaging are using.

Tap the Send Music icon in the chat toolbar, search for any song, and share it.

Text Play supports real-time translation in multiple languages, with more being added regularly. Language currently supports: English, French, Spanish, Chinese, Japanese, Russian, Arabic, German

Yes. You'll be able to choose from supported music services and available tracks.

Yes. Both the sender and recipient need Text Play for the full experience.

Australia is one of the most multicultural countries in the world, and a lot of families and friend groups are genuinely multilingual day to day. Text Play's real-time message translation means conversations can flow naturally in-chat, without copying text in and out of a separate translation app mid-conversation.

A standard voice note is just your recorded voice. A Text Play voice+music message layers a song underneath it, playing back in sync with your voice when the recipient opens it — closer to how a moment actually feels than plain audio.

Yes! Real-time translation works seamlessly in group chats as well as one-on-one conversations. Each participant can read messages in their preferred language, and the app currently supports: English, French, Spanish, Chinese, Japanese, Russian, Arabic, German
